Giarre - Catania, 1994 |
His work stems from interests on anthropological, territorial and landscape issues. It starts from the observation of how a collective imagination can be modeled through cultural symbols and concrete events, directed on the real. For the formal and aesthetic composition he uses both a metaphysical approach, stimulated by personal tastes, and accidental or concrete facts of things that really happened. The artist seeks a remodeling of events by intertwining them with legends that have always fed our cultures, trying to read a whole that mobilizes social and popular structures, protagonists and antagonisms. The fiction, the interpretation, the narration and the representation, blend together as in reality that has no plots, purposes and meaning.
